Meanwhile, Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 42-21 to Mill Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly 21 points.
Shawnee Mission East will have to keep a close watch on Joey Dooley and Tahj Edwards, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lawrence's prior game. Dooley rushed for 141 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while Edwards rushed for 115 yards and a pair of TDs.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Shawnee Mission East has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 271.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lawrence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 175 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Shawnee Mission East strolled past Lawrence in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
