The Lower Lake Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oroville. Lower Lake lost against Oroville in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-31 score last time.
Leading Oroville to victory were Serenity Miller and Leila Jackson. Miller scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Jackson dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals. That's the first time this season that Miller scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ayianna Herrera, who scored five points.
Lower Lake has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Oroville, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
Lower Lake is on the road again on Friday and play against Ferndale on December 15th. As for Oroville, they will square off against Cloverdale at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cloverdale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oroville in California (Cloverdale is ranked 233rd, while Oroville is ranked 1048th).
