Forbush dropped down to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They were dealt a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Mount Airy Granite Bears. Considering the last time the Falcons couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Mount Airy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The result was nothing new for the Granite Bears, who have now won three games by 34 points or more so far this season.

Taeshon Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 100 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown. He has become a key player for Mount Airy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Ty Hemric was another key player, throwing for 175 yards and three TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes.

Forbush didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-3 defeat against East Surry on the 24th. As for Mount Airy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 62-10 victory against Surry Central on the 24th.
