Baseball Recap: Athenian Has No Trouble Against College Prep

Athenian got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the College Prep Cougars. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Athenian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for College Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Athenian is set to challenge their familiar foe Redwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, College Prep will face off against rival Head-Royce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
