Baseball Recap: Wesleyan's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of eight wins, Wesleyan's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Paran Christian Eagles. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Wesleyan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson McCollum, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Wesleyan's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 16-6. As for Mount Paran Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wesleyan is set to take on their familiar foe Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mount Paran Christian will face off against rival Galloway at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Scots have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
