After three games on the road, Maplewood is heading back home. They will take on the Cochranton Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Monday, Maplewood ended up a good deal behind Franklin and lost 47-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Maplewood has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cochranton pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to West Middlesex 60-55.
Despite their loss, Cochranton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Eve Pfeiffer, who scored 13 points along with five assists, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Rodax, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Maplewood's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Cochranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Maplewood strolled past Cochranton when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 61-46. Does Maplewood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cochranton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
