The Conemaugh Township Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 50-24 margin over Ferndale. The win was just what Conemaugh Township needed coming off of a 55-24 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Conemaugh Township to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlyn Fetterman, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Fetterman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Wiley, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Maisen Sechrengost and Deajah Chatman certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Sechrengost scored two points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Chatman scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 50% of Ferndale's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Conemaugh Township's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Ferndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Conemaugh Township and Purchase Line will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Purchase Line focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Ferndale, they will head out on the road to challenge Blacklick Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Blacklick Valley will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
