The Winters Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 44-34 win over Durham. This was payback for Winters, who suffered a 42-39 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jordan Tucker was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Durham saw an underclassman step up: Payton Santos scored 15 points. Santos has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played.
Winters' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Durham, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Winters will head out on the road to square off against East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Nicolaus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Durham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colusa will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
