Crisp County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Dougherty on Wednesday. The Cougars never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

The win was the third in a row for Crisp County, bringing their record up to 9-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Dougherty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Crisp County will take on Bacon County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Dougherty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
