Basketball Recap: Keira Tokushige Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Otay Ranch

Rancho Bernardo won against Fallbrook on Friday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Rancho Bernardo Broncos put the hurt on the Otay Ranch Mustangs with a sharp 46-22 win. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Rancho Bernardo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keira Tokushige out in front who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Tokushige a new career-high. Lindsay Biddle was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzie Daffron, who scored seven points along with six boards and four steals. Daffron is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Rancho Bernardo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Otay Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.

Rancho Bernardo will head out on the road to challenge Poway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Bernardo is facing Poway at the right time seeing as Poway is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Otay Ranch, they will take on Escondido Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Escondido Charter will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Otay Ranch surely won't give up without a fight.
