Baseball Recap: Burbank Wins Going Away Against Valley

Burbank never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Valley Vikings as they made off with a 21-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kevin Duplessis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Burbank is 12-2 when Duplessis posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jesus Cruz was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Kevion Duplessis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Burbank always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Burbank has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Burbank has already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against West Campus on the 29th. As for Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 win against Florin on the 28th.
