Tomahawk gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over the Crandon Cardinals. The Hatchets pushed the score to 35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals had little chance of recovering from.

Tomahawk found their leader in sophomore Max Larson, who rushed for 123 yards and two scores on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Rex Reilly, who rushed for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Crandon lost, don't look at Cruz Palubicki. Despite the final result, he rushed for 76 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tomahawk will welcome Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crandon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Merrill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
