Basketball Recap: St. Lucy's Starts Season with Win at Home

St. Lucy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Workman Lobos with a sharp 44-22 victory. The win continues a trend for the Regents in their matchups with the Lobos: they've now won three in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Danika Mejico, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Samantha Nigro, who put up four points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Workman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Lucy's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pomona at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Workman, they will challenge Glendora at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
