The Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 65-52 to Blair. Roncalli Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Blair apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Roncalli Catholic still got an impressive performance from Alice Cunningham, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cunningham has scored all season. Jordyn Rohlfsen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Blair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taytum Macholan led the charge by scoring 17 points. It was the first time this season that Macholan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Addie Sullivan, who scored 17 points.
Roncalli Catholic has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Blair, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Roncalli Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blair, they will head out on the road to square off against Norris at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Norrispresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blair in Nebraska (Norris is ranked eighth, while Blair is ranked 104th).
