There's no place like home for the Centennial Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Deming 53-35 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Centennial, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elena Gonzales out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gonzales has scored at least 25% of Centennial's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audi Torrez, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Deming, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Silver at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Deming, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gadsden is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
