Chowchilla fell 36-29 to Pacheco on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chowchilla in their matchups with Pacheco: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Chowchilla had strong showings from Molly Silva, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals, and Bella Gonsalves, who scored 4 points along with 11 steals. Silva is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Among those leading the charge was Sasha S siemiller, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Ashley Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 1 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Chowchilla's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pacheco, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Chowchilla will square off against Lathrop at TBD on Friday. Lathrop presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chowchilla in California (Lathrop is ranked 295th, while Chowchilla is ranked 920th). As for Pacheco, they will take on Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Patterson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
