While losing is never fun, Sacred Heart of Jesus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while Ramona Convent is ranked 58th).
Sacred Heart of Jesus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Genevee Hernandez, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Xitlali Botts, who scored 6 points along with 17 rebounds and 6 steals.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Ramona Convent, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Sacred Heart of Jesus will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Conaty-Loretto comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ramona Convent, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pomona Catholic at 4:30 p.m.
