Kelvin Gilliam of
Highland Springs (Va.) announced his commitment on Saturday to Oklahoma on CBS HQ. He chose the Sooners over Penn State and South Carolina becoming the 14th commit of Oklahoma's Class of 2021 so far.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder is the No. 7 weak-side defensive and third-rated player from Virginia in the Class of 2021, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is rated No. 104 overall.
Gilliam finished his junior season with 45 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and seven sacks while helping lead the Springers to an 11-1 record.
Highland Springs was set to begin the season as the No. 1 team in the state before
Virginia moved football to the spring. The Springers have won four 5A state titles since 2015, including Gilliam's freshman and sophomore year.
The Virginia High School League Athletics voted to move fall sports starting Feb. 15 and ending May 1.
