Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Oakdale

Oakdale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Mountain House. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-3 win on Wednesday.

Peyton Wallace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Brayden Avila was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Oakdale's record is now 11-3. As for Mountain House, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Oakdale is taking a road trip to challenge Clovis at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Mountain House, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
