The Portage Northern Huskies will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bronson Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Portage Northern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Portage Northern took a serious blow against Kalamazoo Central, falling 59-25. While losing is never fun, Portage Northern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Kalamazoo Central is ranked 191st).
Meanwhile, Bronson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Colon 49-44.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Payton Springstead, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brealyn Lasky, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Portage Northern's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Bronson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
