The California Condors won the last time they faced the El Rancho Dons , and things went their way on Wednesday too. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 61-32 blowout they got on the road against El Rancho. The victory made it back-to-back wins for California.
Despite the loss, El Rancho had strong showings from Emery Riker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds, and Sofia Lopez, who scored five points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Riker's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
California's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for El Rancho, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California will take on Whittier at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Whittier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 748th, while California is ranked 321st). As for El Rancho, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Apple Valley at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th.
