San Jacinto extended their postseason success on Saturday against Whittier. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 victory over the Cardinals. Given San Jacinto's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Whittier is ranked 624th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Keyera Cameron, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahdai Dwyer, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
San Jacinto's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Dwyer got a bit more time on the court (25 vs. her season average of 12.88). Dwyer made the most of the opportunity, scoring five points along with six rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Margaret's beat Millikan 46-41 on Saturday.
San Jacinto is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a massive bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for St. Margaret's, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.
