Make it six blowout wins for the Eagle Rock Eagles this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Marshall 61-28 on the road. Given Eagle Rock's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Marshall is ranked 689th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nylah Moore was a one-man wrecking crew for Eagle Rock as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. MarySol Jernigan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Marshall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jeda Taylor. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. Taylor is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Marshall struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eagle Rock posted 18 assists.
Eagle Rock is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Marshall, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
