North Hollywood has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chavez recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Huskies will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, North Hollywood made easy work of Wilson and carried off a 7-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Mules: they've now won five in a row.
Haven Huddleston tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. North Hollywood is 2-1 when Huddleston allows two or fewer earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, North Hollywood let Mateo Pignotti and Jonah Hernandez run wild. Pignotti went 2-for-4 with three runs, while Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave Pignotti a new career-high. Engida Barnts also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chavez). They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Sun Valley Magnet on Saturday.
Ivan Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Daniel Zelaya was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Joey Uribe, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
North Hollywood's record now sits at 3-4. As for Chavez, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
North Hollywood came out on top in a nail-biter against Chavez in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
