Murrieta Mesa found their leader in underclassman LaKaila Trimble, who scored 21 points. The game was Trimble's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sarin Newkirk, who scored 7 points.
Westminster's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Murrieta Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Westminster will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Edison at 10:00 a.m. Edison is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Murrieta Mesa, they will square off against Westwood at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
