The Shaw Raiders will face off against the Jordan Red Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaw is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Shaw fell victim to Calvary Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.
Shaw saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deshaun Mays, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Carver on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Red Jackets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.
Bradley Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Jordan's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Glenn Edmondson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jordan is 4-2 when Edmondson posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Brody Catlin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Jordan lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Shaw has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Shaw's way against Jordan in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Shaw made off with a 9-1 win. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Red Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
