They were just one part of a punishing run game: Flinthills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Another reason for the win was Flinthills' imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Deken Girty, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Flinthills has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 211.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cedar Vale/Dexter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 196.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Flinthills lost to Cedar Vale/Dexter on the road by a decisive 50-36 margin in their previous matchup back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Criss, who rushed for 105 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
