The Concord Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Las Lomas. Concord was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2014.
Concord's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamiyah Washington, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals. Washington hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. A'mariah Iglesias was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Concord has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Las Lomas, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Ygnacio Valley is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. As for Las Lomas, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Berean Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in California (the Eagles are ranked 251st, while the Knights are ranked 777th).
