Sadly, the King-Chavez Community Lions are still looking for their first win of the season after seven matchups. They were dealt a 71-10 loss at the hands of O'Farrell Charter on Friday. King-Chavez Community lost against O'Farrell Charter in their previous head to head back in February of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 38-24 score last time.
O'Farrell Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liona Rusom, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rusom has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joniah Cashwell, who scored 14 points.
King-Chavez Community dropped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.4 points per game. As for O'Farrell Charter, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King-Chavez Community will face off against Ocean View Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocean View Christian's defense has only allowed 25.1 points per game this season, so King-Chavez Community's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for O'Farrell Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against High Tech CV at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
