The Dixon Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Amador Buffaloes at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Amador's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Dixon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Winters 8-1 on Friday.
Max Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Owen Tomelloso looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Kai Mulitsch-Reynolds, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Siegmund, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Amador, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sonora by a score of 6-3 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
Brad Blankenheim was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Amador: the team is 3-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
Amador was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.
Amador now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Dixon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.
Dixon skirted past Amador 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Dixon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Amador turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
