Last Wednesday, MMI Preparatory School didn't have too much trouble with Notre Dame on the road as they won 45-30. The victory was just what MMI Preparatory School needed coming off of a 54-23 loss in their prior match.
Bria Kringe continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with three steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of MMI Preparatory School's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy McDermott, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Wyoming Area suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 33-9 walloping at the hands of Wyoming Seminary College Prep. While losing is never fun, Wyoming Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while Wyoming Seminary College Prep is ranked 177th).
Shannon Kearns was Wyoming Area's leading scorer, having posted six points.
MMI Preparatory School's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Wyoming Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Saturday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy match: MMI Preparatory School have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.6 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Wyoming Area, though, as they've been averaging only 28.1 rebounds per game. Given MMI Preparatory School's sizeable advantage in that area, Wyoming Area will need to find a way to close that gap.
