The MaxPreps Underclass All-America Softball Team recognizes and celebrates the exceptional young talent who made a significant impact on their high school teams during the 2023-2024 school year.
This distinguished team comprises 30 outstanding ninth and 10th graders who put up remarkable numbers all season long.
The selection process considered various factors, including statistics submitted to MaxPreps, local and national honors, coach nominations and team achievements.
Hutton (lulu) Adrian, Fr., Melissa (Texas)Hard to have a better start to a prep career as the catcher blasted 22 home runs, which led all Class of 2027 players.
Madelynn Cantu, So., Weslaco (Texas)She was the team's ace and helped the Panthers to a miracle run capped off by a Class 6A state championship.
Taryn Ford, So., Carterville (Ill.)Sensational during a 1-0 victory over North Boone in the state championship game. She struck out 16 in six innings and hit the walk-off base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Brielle Gardiner, Fr., Ridgeline (Millville, Utah)Led the Riverhawks to a Class 4A state title at the plate and in the circle. Batted .532 with nine home runs while going 27-1 with a 0.78 ERA. Struck out 246 batters in 162 innings.
Lilly Goodwin, So., Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, Ariz.)The left-handed pitcher did work all season in the circle. She fanned 201, finished 16-1 and ended with a 0.54 ERA.
Ava Hodo So., Orange Beach (Ala.)The powerful catcher and corner infielder hit 12 bombs, drove in 63 runs and finished with a .488 average for the top-ranked team in the country.
Lilly Hauser, So., Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta, Calif.)A force on offense and defense. She batted .514 and hit nine jacks while going 23-1 with a 0.63 ERA.
McLaine Hudson, So., South Warren (Bowling Green, Ky.)Deadly with the bat in her hands all season long. She smashed 22 home runs, batted .639 and drove in 67 runs.
Madison McDougall, So., St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.)The right-handed pitcher struck out 300 hitters and finished with a 0.85 ERA in 164 innings pitched. McDougall has already led St. John-Vianney to a pair of Non-Public A titles with two years to go.
Malie Satete, Fr., West Las Vegas (Las Vegas, N.M.)Blasted 25 home runs, finished with a .773 batting average and drove in 76 runs. She also helped the Dons win their first state championship, going 14-1 and mowing down 143 batters.
Torynn Slaughter, So., Pinnacle (Phoenix, Ariz.)Near impossible to get out, finishing with a .619 average. Slaughter had a hit in every single game this season.
Caroline Stanton, So., Buford (Ga.)Lights out for the top-ranked team in the fall. She helped the Wolves capture a Class AAAAAAA title, finishing the season with a 0.77 ERA and nearly 13 strikeouts a game.
Grace Swedarsky, So., Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.)The right-handed ace struck out 77 batters over the final five games of the season, including 13 Ks in the Class 4A state championship game to help the Royals win the title. She finished the season with 270 punch-outs.
Jordyn Thibodeaux, So., Calallen (Corpus Christi, Texas)A massive reason the Wildcats captured the 4A title. She mowed down 154 batters, went 20-1 with a 0.93 ERA.
Ayla Tuua, So., Capital Christian Academy (Sacramento, Calif.)The powerful right-hander throws gas, reaching the low 70s, and is one of the toughest at-bats for any hitter at any level.
Second Team
Kynzee Anderson, So., Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.)Has already struck out nearly 800 batters. She finished the year with a 25-2 mark and 274 strkeouts.
Ella Baswell, Fr., New Hope (Ala.)The utility player put up big numbers at the plate this spring. She finished tied for second in the Class of 2027 with 18 home runs.
Avery Beals, So., Charleston (Ill.)A major offensive weapon once as she swiped 51 total bases. She ended the year with a .621 average.
Ally Compton, Fr., Munster (Ind.)Got stronger as the season went on, including smashing seven home runs in the final six games of the season. She finished with 15.
Mia Clemmer, So., Coahoma (Texas) The catcher had another monster year for the 3A state champions. Clemmer now has 35 long balls through her first two years at the varsity level.
Jessie Crye, So., Avon (N.Y.)Mowed down an incredible 322 batters in 149 innings. She finished with a 0.42 ERA.
Struck out 21 batters in the state title game, lifting Cheverus to its first state title. The right-handed ace mowed down 212 batters this season in 87 innings. She also was the team's top hitter.
Angie Falls, Fr., Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.)Stepped right in as one of the Gators' top hitters and team ace. She struck out 11 batters in the 6A state championship game helping her team pull out the 3-2 victory over Queen Creek.
Jade Jones, So., Stanley (Logansport, La.) The catcher and middle infielder absolutely went off at the plate this year, blasting 21 home runs with 63 RBI. She was walked 34 times and had a .641 on-base percentage.
Kaylee McDonald, So., Des Arc (Ark.)Led all sophomores with 346 strikeouts in 150 innings. She mowed down 10 more more hitters in 21 games this spring.
Was one of the main arms in the circle for a team who won 38-straight games and topped it off with a state championship. She finished with 249 Ks in 138 innings of work.
The infielder was a rock in all facets of the game for the MaxPreps National Champion. At the dish, she hit .480, smashed 12 bombs and drove in 52 runs.
Loren Sivils, Fr., Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.)A huge addition to the top ranked team in the Bayou State. The infielder went deep 17 times this season for the Division III Select champion.
Courtney Wahlbrink, Fr., Coral Springs Charter (Coral Springs, Fla.)The hard-throwing right-hander piled up 213 strikeouts this season. Wahlbrink finished with a 25-3 record and a 0.46 ERA.
Alexa Yarger, So., Desert Christian (Tucson, Ariz.)It's not an understatement to say she was nearly impossible to get out. Yarger finished with a .796 OPB, 20 jacks and 74 RBI. She had at least a hit in every game she played in this spring.
