The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shafter in their matchups with Arroyo Grande: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Shafter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexia Ramirez. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points. Ramirez scored a full 44% of Shafter's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Isela Lugo, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Shafter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Arroyo Grande, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Shafter will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Atascadero at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Arroyo Grande, they will take on Cupertino at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cupertino will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 959th, while Arroyo Grande is ranked 252nd).
