The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans pushed their score all the way to 77 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bayside by a score of 80-77. Veritas Collegiate Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bayside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Veritas Collegiate Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Majesty Dawson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macqell Freeman, who scored 21 points.
Veritas Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Bayside, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veritas Collegiate Academy will take on Spirit HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
