Almont hasn't had much luck against St. Clair recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Saints at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Almont barely beat Croswell-Lexington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders blew past the Pioneers 11-1 on Tuesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Brooklyn Bunch was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Clair). They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over L'Anse Creuse North on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Hayley McFarlane was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. McFarlane was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madisyn Treat, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Oles, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
St. Clair always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
St. Clair is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Almont, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1.
Almont couldn't quite get it done against St. Clair in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 as they fell 5-2. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
