Center has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Lindhurst Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Center had to suffer through a rough 65-30 loss at the hands of the Falcons. While losing is never fun, Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 671st, while the Falcons are ranked 62nd).
Despite their defeat, Center saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aleena Castellanos, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Madison Shirley Boudreaux was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lindhurst's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 22nd straight loss. They were dealt a 63-28 defeat at the hands of Bear River.
Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Lindhurst, they dropped their record down to 1-22 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Center against the Blazers in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 42-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
