 Despite the  loss, Forbush got top-tier performance from   Tyler Winters, who threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 79 yards on only ten carries.  Joseph Barnes was  Winters' top target, picking up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Meanwhile, Elkin came into Friday's   matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy  28-13 victory over South Stokes last Friday. The Buckin' Elks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
 Forbush's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Elkin, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
 Forbush was able to grind out a solid  victory over Elkin when the teams last played  back in September of 2023, winning  33-20. Will Forbush repeat their success,  or does  Elkin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
