Clemens and Steele are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Buffaloes will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clemens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Clemens took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Judson a 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won three in a row.

Alexis Alma looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Clemens let Celestina Daniels and Erika Padron run wild. Daniels went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Padron went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Padron has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Leah Wilkerson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Clemens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Judson only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Steele hadn't done well against Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights blew past the Cougars 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Mia Perez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Olivia Flores and Jillian Gonzales did most of the damage at the plate: Flores went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-3 with one home run. Flores is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Nadia Rodriguez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Clemens' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-4. As for Steele, their record is now 11-4-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clemens hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. However, it's not like Steele struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
