The Abington Heights Comets had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 victory over Berwick on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Abington Heights also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Berwick had strong showings from RaeAnna Andreas, who scored 14 points, and Gabby Starr, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Andreas scored a full 42.4% of Berwick's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Abington Heights' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Berwick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Abington Heights will be playing at home against Holy Redeemer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Holy Redeemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. As for Berwick, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
