Softball Recap: Keyser Beats Bridgeport for Their Sixth Straight Win

Keyser came tearing into Saturday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Bridgeport Indians as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Tornado, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brielle Root, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Tavery Lyons was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Keyser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bridgeport only posted an OBP of .286.

Keyser's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Bridgeport, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Coincidentally, Keyser and Bridgeport will both be playing Elkins the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Golden Tornado will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
