The West Shamokin Wolves suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 62-26 loss at the hands of Portage. West Shamokin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.
Portage can attribute much of their success to Ashlyn Hudak, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Burkett, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
West Shamokin's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Portage, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
West Shamokin will take on River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Portage, they will head out on the road to square off against Conemaugh Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
