Baseball Recap: University Prep Wins Going Away Against Trinity

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Prep). They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Trinity Wolves on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Luca Snell and Casey Wrathall made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Snell tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Wrathall tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Snell scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Wrathall scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Wrathall has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, David Wenham was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Waylon Stripling, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

University Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

The win got University Prep back to even at 2-2. As for Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, University Prep will take on Las Plumas in a tournament on Friday. University Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Trinity, they are taking a road trip to face off against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on March 11th.
