Video: Epic bat flip on walk-off grand slam
Ryan Sepede celebrates big after his huge hit.Perhaps the only thing that went higher than Ryan Sepede's grand slam was his bat flip.
The
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) sophomore uncorked a walk-off grand slam for the junior varsity team in a 6-5 win over Desert Oasis on Saturday. Once he realized the ball was out of the park, Sepede celebrated with a sky-high bat flip.
"Please excuse the bat flip, I was hyped out of my mind," he tweeted following the game, along with the video you see above.
Sepede actually accounted for all six runs in the game, adding a two-run double in the first inning to go with his grand slam in the bottom of the seventh. He finished 2-for-4 with a double and a grand slam and a run scored.
Although he is a member of the junior varsity squad, due mainly to the fact that the Gaels are one of the top-ranked teams in the nation, Sepede is ranked by Perfect Game as one of the top sophomores in the state of Nevada.
According to
Recruit Look, Sepede has been working on his power hitting with Team Adidas coach Mike Bryant, the father of the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant.
