The Riverview Raiders suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 70-40 defeat at the hands of St. Joseph. Riverview has not had much luck with St. Joseph recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Riverview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lola Abraham. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. Juliette Brun was another key contributor, scoring five points.
It was another big night for Julie Spinelli, who scored 22 points along with four steals for St. Joseph. Spinelli hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Kreinbrook, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Riverview has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season. As for St. Joseph, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Riverview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Springdale on January 18th. As for St. Joseph, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Eden Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Eden Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while St. Joseph is ranked 138th).
