The Merkel Badgers will take on the Valley Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Hermleigh scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Merkel still came out on top. Merkel took their matchup against Hermleigh 68-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Merkel.
Meanwhile, Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against Gruver by a score of 57-49. 57 seems to be a good number for Valley as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Reese Cruse, who scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, and Trinity Schlueter, who scored 25 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Cruse's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Their wins bumped Merkel to 4-1 and Hermleigh to 7-1.
