Zhamir Mack was nothing short of spectacular: he went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jalin Sutton, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, SouthWest Edgecombe saw an underclassman step up: Justin Bridgers scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Ricky Smith was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Greene Central's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Greene Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. North Pitt is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
