The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars basketball team (Pinetops, NC), was nudged 56-51 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Greene Central Rams (Snow Hill, NC)

The Rams now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Craven for a 2A Eastern Plains battle on Wednesday, January 31. Greene Central will battle a Eagles team coming off a 62-49 league loss to Washington (Washington, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 9-6.

The Cougars (10-10) will now prepare for their battle against North Pitt (Bethel, NC). The Panthers come into the 2A Eastern Plains battle with a 2-16 record. In their last battle, North Pitt was nudged by Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC), 71-61, in a league battle.
