The Trinity Catholic Celtics will square off against The Villages Charter Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
Trinity Catholic is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Peters Township just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Monday. They lost to the Indians on the road by a 62-48 margin. While losing is never fun, the Celtics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 63rd in Florida, while the Indians are ranked fifth in Pennsylvania).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brionie Leahmon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Ja'Niya Corbin was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Trinity Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, The Villages Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Sunday. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wildwood.
Like Trinity Catholic, The Villages Charter lost despite seeing results from several players. Herva Brutus led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Narjhani Harris, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points in addition to six boards and five assists.
The Villages Charter's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Trinity Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Trinity Catholic has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.1 boards per game. However, it's not like The Villages Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
