Lakeview Charter will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Jefferson extended their winning streak to six on Thursday. The Democrats put the hurt on Dr. Maya Angelou Community with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Democrats have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Matthew Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his seven plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
