Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 25% better than the opposition, a fact the Chestnut Ridge Lions proved on Wednesday. They took down Penn Cambria 56-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chestnut Ridge.
Ashlie Weaver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with eight blocks and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Chestnut Ridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Hillegass, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Penn Cambria lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaylee Harpster, who scored nine points. Reagan Ronan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Chestnut Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Penn Cambria, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5.
Chestnut Ridge will face off against Bishop McCort at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bishop McCort will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Penn Cambria, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m.
